Setup Checklist
The nine-step event setup guide on your overview — and how to dismiss it.
Every active event shows an Event setup guide on the overview until all steps are complete or you hide it.
The nine steps
| Step | What it checks | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Add event details | Name and start date set | Settings → edit event |
| 2. Add activities | At least one active activity | Activities → Add activity |
| 3. Add guests | At least one guest on the list | Guests → Add guest |
| 4. Mark guest of honour | Someone tagged as guest of honour | Guests → guest profile |
| 5. Add or confirm costs | Paid activity costs or shared payment items | Activities or Payments |
| 6. Review payment splits | Allocations exist for payment items | Payments |
| 7. Add payment details | Bank / PayID instructions for guests | Payments → Payment details section |
| 8. Send invites | At least one invite sent or guest joined | Guests → Send invite |
| 9. Track RSVPs and payments | At least one RSVP response recorded | Guest hub / Payments |
Steps turn green as you complete them. The bar shows overall progress.
Suggested order
For a smooth launch:
- Event details and cover image
- Build the full itinerary (activities + costs)
- Add all guests and mark guest of honour
- Review Payments — check splits look right
- Add payment details for guests
- Send invites
- Nudge RSVPs with Send RSVP reminders if needed
- Record payments as money comes in
Hide the guide
If you do not need the checklist anymore, click Hide guide in the top-right of the setup guide card. It stays hidden for that event (stored per event).
The guide reappears only if you have not dismissed it and steps remain incomplete — once dismissed, it stays hidden even if steps are incomplete.
Dashboard warnings
Below the setup guide, yellow info banners may appear for common gaps:
- Costs set but no guests
- Guests added but no invites sent
- No RSVPs yet
- Payment allocations need review after RSVP changes
- Guests added but no payment details
Each banner links to the relevant page.
